Situated in lovely grounds, close to York City Centre, the Home was purpose-built in 1971 and has capacity for 90 residents.

An extension built in 1998 houses older people with dementia. The main part of the Home operates a 'hotel' style of care, with communal facilities. Although large, the Home has a friendly, homely atmosphere.
