2004 Festival - Province of Sussex

The Brighton CentreOn the 15th April this year, more that 1000 Sussex Masons, their wives, visiting Masonic dignitaries and RMBI representatives attended the Sussex Provincial Festival Dinner, at the Brighton Centre.

RW Bro David Williamson, Assistant Grand Master was the guest of honour, and saw RW Bro Ian Homan Lay, the PGM for Sussex, present then RMBI President RW Bro Brian Smith with a cheque in the magnificent sum of £4,104,896, the culmination of 5 years hard work on the part of Sussex Freemasons.

The evening was a tremendous success, with a major talking point being a 35 minute presentation depicting the best aspects of Sussex Freemasonry which played continuously throughout the evening. Other highlights were ‘Just Strings’, the string quartet who played during the meal, and Caprice, a top London Showband which entertained the guests with music from the 60’s through to the present day.

2004 Festival cheque presentationRW Bro Ian Lay presented RW Bro. Brian Smith with the Festival cheque, watched by VW Bro Don Durrant, the Festival Chairman. This magnificent donation will enable the RMBI to continue their work of providing care, help and support to older Freemasons and their dependants, and is very gratefully received.

Sincere thanks go to all who supported the Festival, for their hard work.
