Sun, Sea and Sand…RMBI Holidays

23 August 2011

Members of the Southend and Essex Masonic Welfare Trust

The RMBI organises four annual holiday events for the benefit of the RMBI Annuitants or people receiving financial assistance e.g. Masonic Relief Grant. The holidays are held in Bournemouth, Eastbourne, Llandudno and Westcliff-on-Sea.

Here Judy Morrow, Care Advice Visitor, gives an account on the Westcliff-on-Sea holiday.

"One of the nicest parts of my job as Care Advice Visitor are the visits I make to the RMBI holiday at Westcliff-on-Sea each year.

"All the outings and social events are arranged by the Southend and Essex Masonic Welfare Trust (pictured) who are on hand throughout the holiday and whose efforts are clearly evident in their thoughtfulness for the holidaymakers. They organise outings to the Houses of Parliament, United Grand Lodge of England and the official residence of the Mayor of Southend-on-Sea. The holiday group also visit RMBI Home Prince Edward Duke of Kent Court in Essex.

"The holiday ends with a farewell dinner at Saxon Hall with representatives from the RMBI and the Lodges, whose hospitality has enabled everyone to enjoy their holiday break. The holiday makers are always amazed at the energy and kindness of their hosts and often make long lasting friendships."

The RMBI also organises a winter holiday to Malta which takes place in February.
