RMBI care homes to celebrate Dignity Action Day

On 1 February 2012 RMBI care homes will be providing activities to celebrate Dignity Action Day.
Dignity Action Day gives everyone the opportunity to contribute to upholding people's rights to dignity and provide a truly memorable day for people receiving care. Dignity Action Day aims to ensure people in care are treated as individuals, are given choice, control and a sense of purpose in their daily lives and provide stimulating activities.
Activity Co-odinators and residents are arranging activities ranging from a non-denominational service on the theme of dignity, planting a ‘dignity' tree to Afternoon Tea's and pampering sessions. At a few Homes residents and their families will write their views and comments on a paper leaf on how they see dignity should be upheld within the care home setting. The leaves will then be displayed a notice board within the Home for all to read.
