9 June 2009
On 14 May 2009, Prince Michael of Kent Court, Watford, was presented with a brand new, award-winning garden thanks to the Province of Middlesex. The garden, “On the Square”, won the prestigious Silver Gilt Flora award at the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show in 2008 and it is an honour to have the garden in the Home.
HRH Prince Michael of Kent GCVO, Provincial Grand Master for Middlesex, dedicated the garden, along with RMBI President, VW Bro Willie Shackell and Chief Executive, David Innes.
Following the dedication of the garden, HRH Prince Michael toured the home meeting all the residents, including three centenarians together with members of staff.
During his address, HRH Prince Michael of Kent commented that he hoped the garden would provide an area of relaxation and contemplation for the residents. He spoke of the high standard of accommodation and the care provided at Prince Michael of Kent Court and particularly thanked the Association of Friends for their caring and continued support to the residents.
