Geoffrey Dicker House, the Dementia Support Unit at Cornwallis Court, Suffolk recently held their Garden Fete.

The Fete was well attended by residents, relatives and friends and included many stalls, a raffle and musical entertainment. The event was also attended by the Deputy Mayor of St Edmondsbury: Councilor Patricia Warby who officially opened the new 1950's style shop.

The 1950's shop came about as a result of the training given by Dementia UK which encouraged staff to come up with practical ideas on how they could enhance the lives of the people in their care. A small lounge was redecorated and staff hunted down old furniture such as an old fashioned till and pictures to put on the walls. The shop is a huge success with the residents.
