Zetland Court residents get Wii Fit

One of the main aims of Activity Co-ordinators at RMBI Homes is to help residents retain and improve their mobility, keeping their minds active and hosting many recreational activities and events in the Home.

Some RMBI Homes have introduced Wii Fit classes which are proving to be very popular and are thoroughly enjoyed by the residents. Zetland Court in Bournemouth has had its console for a several months and use it regularly. The Home has many types of games to appeal to a wide range of tastes and physical ability which include tennis, golf, beach games and various fitness activities. However the most popular game is ten pin bowling as it can be played whilst sitting down.

The workouts have huge benefits, such as keeping the residents fit, supple and motivated. Exercise can help with arthritic pain, keep residents active for longer and is a great way to socialise with other residents and their families.

Mr Mervyn Romeril, resident at Zetland Court, said "The technique was a bit tricky at first but I soon got the hang of it and found the whole session great fun!"
