Game, Set and Match - New Centre Court at Cadogan Court
21 August 2010
Cadogan Court, Exeter has had a giant umbrella installed to cap the central out door area which has been levelled and professionally landscaped.
This project has been carried out in the hope that the area will become an accessible area for all residents to use as a central meeting area. The centre court, as it is fondly known, was originally designed as a quite seating area for residents with planters, secluded seats and walkways. However in recent years the area had fallen into disrepair and had become a bit of an eyesore. It was also being used less and less due to the steep steps which can be hard to navigate around especially as the age of residents being admitted into the Home is increasing.
The landscape project saw the Association of Friends of Cadogan Court and the RMBI come together to fund this project and was helped enormously by a substantial legacy from the late Bro. J.C.Coleman and his wife; indeed, as a mark of our respect and gratitude the area will be named ‘The Coleman Garden’.
Residents have responded well to the area and the staff at the Home have received lots of positive comments.
