Memories of our move by Mrs Joan Jones
Mr and Mrs Jones have lived at Prince Edward Duke of Kent Court, Essex for nearly four years and still remember with fondness the warm welcome they received.
With increasing loss of her mobility Mrs Jones was concerned about the impact on their quality of life. They decided that a residential home would be a good option for them as it would allow Mr Jones to still lead an independent life, whilst providing Mrs Jones the extra support she needed.
"Driving up the driveway, which crosses a local golf course, the Georgian House looked welcoming as it glistened in the sunlight. The surrounding gardens and beautiful grounds instantly made me feel at ease." remembers Mrs Jones.
This feeling continued as they received a warm welcome from the Manager, who gave them a tour of the Home's facilities, introduced them to other residents and members of staff. Mrs Jones continues: "Everyone seemed friendly and there was a happy atmosphere. It didn't take us long to decide that we would like to live here."
