Respite Care

Respite care is available in some RMBI Homes depending on the availability of beds.

Carer and residentRespite is short-term care (days or weeks) where you can live in one of our Homes, enabling you and your regular carer to have a break.  Respite care could be needed to give a carer a break from looking after their dependant, to allow time for a person to recover after a hospital stay, or to sample what it is like to live in a care home and can also be a useful first step towards permanent residential care.

All of our Homes can access all of the services you may need to rehabilitate e.g. physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and can, liaise with the health and social care team involved.

The RMBI work alongside the Masonic Samaritan Fund (MSF) who can offer up to four weeks funding in certain cases for respite in an RMBI Home.
