Situated along the outskirts of the historic city of Exeter, Cadogan Court is surrounded by landscaped gardens and stunning views over the city and Cathedral. We provide residential care, nursing and dementia support for up to 70 residents.

We want you to feel right at home with us. Here at Cadogan Court, you will have a spacious, fully furnished bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, and a specialist team to support your care needs.

Cadogan Court can support up to 48 people in the residential area of our Home and we have seven experienced carers, one Senior Carer and a Shift Leader during the day.

In our Dementia Support House, we can care for up to 11 people with three carers on duty supervised by a Shift Leader during the day.

Our nursing area can support up to 11 people and is managed by a Registered Nurse, who supervises two care staff during the day.

During the night, there are seven experienced carers, one Senior Carer, and a Registered Nurse who are supervised by a Shift Leader throughout each of the areas in our Home.

Most of our care staff have achieved, or are working towards an NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care.  There is always a Registered Nurse on shift and our Home Manager is also a Registered Nurse who oversees the safe and effective care delivered by our staff.

We have a 24-hour nurse call system installed in all our residents’ rooms and some of our residents have a personal alarm to carry, so they can call for assistance when they are around the Home or out and about.

We have two dedicated Activities Coordinators who organise a variety of activities as well as trips outside of the Home, to support our residents’ health and wellbeing.

Please note that the level of care each person receives will depend on their individual care needs. This is continuously monitored and reviewed to ensure each person receives the right level of care. Staffing levels may be adjusted in different areas of the Home to support the level of care required by residents at any particular point in time.

“The staff always do their best to make it feel like a home and my mum is as happy as she can be there.”

Moving into a care home doesn't mean you have to give up your independence. We're here to help you live the life you want, whilst knowing that support is on-hand if you need it.

Your bedroom will be complete with fitted furniture and many rooms have views of the surrounding area. You can furnish your room with personal items such as pictures, books and ornaments to make it your own.

Our inner courtyards provide a quiet area to sit and enjoy the smell of the flowers and residents love our outdoor spaces, especially in the warmer months.

A hair dressing salon is available for those who fancy a haircut and the on-site shop is perfect to top up on small personal items. The Home also runs a bar where you can enjoy your favourite tipple.

Fresh homemade food

We have a fully serviced kitchen with on-site chefs and a catering team. Our varied menu changes regularly to give you a range of meal options and a balanced diet.

Special menus can also be produced for social occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries, including the odd BBQ and take-aways.

Wine is available during meals and tea, coffee, juices and other soft drinks are always available throughout the day.

Activities for all

We believe that keeping active both mentally and physically allows our residents to experience wellbeing and meaningfulness.

We provide regular activities at Cadogan Court. Arts and crafts classes, games and reminiscence activities, cooking and baking sessions are some of the items you will find on the activities programme. We also encourage you to suggest other activities you would like to take part in.

We will support you with your own personal interests and hobbies, whether that is reading, bird watching, gardening or trying something completely new.

You can also take part in trips outside of the Home, as well as social events, entertainment evenings, film shows and talks.

Regular church services are held at the Home or you can attend a church of your own choice in the local community.

Many activities are supported by the Home's Association of Friends

“The staff always do their best to make it feel like a home and my mum is as happy as she can be there.”

We are committed to giving our residents and their relatives a voice and encourage families to provide feedback on the quality of our services.

We actively promote residents and relatives forums and regularly carry out satisfaction surveys that are benchmarked to the industry to ensure that we continue to improve and develop our services to meet people’s needs and expectations. This includes taking part in Your Care Rating, the country’s largest and most authoritative survey of care home residents and we are delighted to be part of this initiative.

The nationwide survey gives residents a voice, putting their care at the heart of understanding more about how well care homes perform.  The survey also provides helpful insights into the experiences of people using our service and we have used this information to help us continually improve as an organisation.

Alongside the Your Care Rating survey of residents, we also conduct our own annual survey through an independent research company Ipsos MORI for all relatives of residents.

Recent results from our annual national survey show that 100% of residents at Cadogan Court are happy with the care and support they receive.
