Our nursing area can support up to 15 people and is managed by a Registered Nurse, who leads a team of three care staff during the day and one at night.

Most of our care staff have achieved, or are working towards an NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care. The Home has an experienced Management team comprising of two trained nurses, and managers with many years’ experience in Health and social care.

We have a 24-hour nurse call system installed in all our residents’ rooms and some of the residents have a personal alarm to carry, so they can call for assistance when they are around the Home or out and about.

We have a dedicated Activities Coordinator who organises a variety of activities as well as trips outside of the Home, to support our residents’ health and wellbeing.

Please note that the level of care each person receives will depend on their individual care needs. This is continuously monitored and reviewed to ensure each person receives the right level of care. Staffing levels may be adjusted in different areas of the Home to support the level of care required by residents at any particular point in time.

“It’s a very friendly and welcoming home, for both guests and visitors.”

We are committed to giving our residents and their relatives a voice and encourage families to provide feedback on the quality of our services.

We actively promote residents and relatives forums and regularly carry out satisfaction surveys that are benchmarked to the industry to ensure that we continue to improve and develop our services to meet people’s needs and expectations. This includes taking part in Your Care Rating, the country’s largest and most authoritative survey of care home residents and we are delighted to be part of this initiative.

The nationwide survey gives residents a voice, putting their care at the heart of understanding more about how well care homes perform.  The survey also provides helpful insights into the experiences of people using our service and we have used this information to help us continually improve as an organisation.

Alongside the Your Care Rating survey of residents, we also conduct our own annual survey through an independent research company Ipsos MORI for all relatives of residents.

Recent results from our annual national survey show that 92% of residents at Connaught Court are happy with the care and support they receive.

Connaught Court is Regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC)

The CQC’s report for Connaught Court showed positive ratings in the majority of its assessment areas.  It also outlined two areas requiring improvement  which were related to the management of residents’ records of consent and the Home's ability to demonstrate that consent was being obtained from residents about their care.

Connaught Court uses an electronic system and has now updated its recording procedure so consent records are more accessible .  The process for obtaining consent from residents during admission is also being reviewed regularly.  We feel that the CQC's requirements have now been fully met and await a further inspection to confirm our compliance.
