Explore our ratingNestled amongst seven acres of beautiful and peaceful landscaped gardens, Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court lies in the seaside town of Porthcawl along the south coast of Wales. The Home provides residential care and is one of our ten nursing Homes. We also have a dedicated Dementia Support House and in total, the Home can support up to 76 residents.
Our staff team at Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court have an average of six years’ length of service. We have Nutrition and Medication champions as well as staff members that speak Welsh, to support our residents whose first language is Welsh.

Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court can support up to 49 people in the two residential areas of our Home. In Adams Morgan and the flats, we have six experienced carers during the morning and five carers in the afternoon. During the night, there are two carers and all teams are supported by a Shift Leader. In Northway, Hughes and Ashe, we have seven carers in the morning and six carers in the afternoon.
In our Dementia Support House, we can support up to 13 people with four carers on duty in the morning and four in the afternoon. During the night, residents are supported by a Shift Leader and two carers.
Our nursing area can support up to 20 people and is managed by a Registered Nurse, who leads a team of five care staff in the morning, four in the afternoon and two at night.
Most of our care staff have achieved, or are working towards an NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care. We also have two Clinical Deputy Home Managers available who oversee the safe and effective care delivered by our staff. We have a 24-hour nurse call system installed in all our residents’ rooms.
We have two dedicated Activities Coordinators who organise a variety of activities as well as trips to surrounding areas, supporting our residents’ health and wellbeing.
Please note that the level of care each person receives will depend on their individual needs. This is continuously monitored and reviewed to ensure each person receives the right level of care. Staffing levels may be adjusted in different areas of the Home to support the level of care required by residents at any particular point in time.
