We have approximately 17 experienced carers during the day, and eight carers during the night. Our carers will be a mix of experienced carers with at least one Level 3 carer and one Shift Leader looking after each floor. Our senior Shift Leader will oversee the delivery of care in the home with the support of our Deputy Manager and Home Manager.
Most of our care staff have achieved, or are working towards an NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care. Devonshire Court also provides specific and tailored training in areas including dementia care and Parkinson’s disease.
We have a 24-hour nurse call system installed in all our residents’ rooms and each person has a personal alarm to carry, so they can call for assistance when they are around the Home.
We have a dedicated Activities Team who organise a variety of activities as well as trips outside of the Home, to support our residents’ health and wellbeing. We also provide weekly physio sessions to promote mobility and wellbeing for our residents. We also have fluent Polish, Romanian, Punjabi and Gujarati speakers.
Please note that the level of care each person receives will depend on their individual needs. This is continuously monitored and reviewed to ensure each person receives the right level of care. Staffing levels may be adjusted in different areas of the Home to support the level of care required by residents at any particular point in time.
