Spring has arrived and residents at RMBI care home Zetland Court in Bournemouth brought some sunny spells into the Home with a flower and bake-off show.
Residents created colourful flower arrangements in a flower workshop and displayed them to relatives, friends and staff. Families in return were encouraged to bring in homemade cakes that were judged by residents on a scale of 1-10. The flower displays received marks as well, judged by Deputy Home Manager Victoria Smith.
Activities Coordinator Karen Casey said: "Following the competition, residents and guests were invited to buy the lovely flower displays for a small donation and we raised around £50 for our 'Pink Ladies', the Home's own charity that helps our residents get around.
"It was a lovely event that brought residents, families and staff together to enjoy the harbingers of spring. At Zetland Court, we organise regular events that bring residents into contact with nature and animals and the interaction supports their health and wellbeing."
