To celebrate Team GB’s success at the Rio Olympics 2016, residents at Connaught Court in York celebrated by enjoying their own Olympic themed event at the Home.
Staff at the Home in Fulford organised a fun-filled day for residents in Fred Crosland House, the Home’s dementia support house. There were various activities including a walking challenge, staff sack race, hula hoop and bean bag challenge, followed by afternoon tea in the Home’s gardens. Residents also enjoyed making Olympic themed collages to decorate the walls of the Home.
“Residents and staff at Connaught Court have had a great time cheering on the athletes during this year’s Olympics. We thought it would be fitting to celebrate Team GB’s success by having our own mini sporting event, to keep active and to celebrate some of our own skills,” says Stephanie Taylor, Activities Coordinator at Connaught Court.
