Residents at Connaught Court in York are getting ready for the festive season with some Christmassy arts & crafts activities.
Residents at the Home in Fulford recently took part in a creativity session, making labels for parcels and stockings decorated with beads and glitter. The group also prepared a range of festive foodies such as green tomato chutney, whiskey ginger and orange marmalade, sloe gin, boozy mincemeat and mulled wine, which will be sold at stands during the Home's Christmas Coffee Morning on Saturday, 2 December.
Activities Coordinator Fran said: "Our residents got into the festive spirit whilst preparing for our upcoming Christmas event. The activity brought everyone together and sparked conversations about previous Christmas times and family gatherings."
The Christmas Coffee Morning is open to the public and will take place at the Home on St Oswalds Road in Fulford on Saturday, 2 December, from 10am to 12pm. There will be a raffle, tombola, artisan bread, cake, craft and preserve stalls with all proceeds going towards residents' Christmas presents. Entry is £1, which includes a hot drink and a mince pie.
