Residents and staff at RMBI Care Co. Home Cornwallis Court in Bury St Edmunds, have supported Movember to raise awareness of men’s health issues.
Ladies and gentlemen at the Home, in their 80s, 90s and 100s, donned fake moustaches and cheesy grins to pose for photos. Everyone then enjoyed a moustache themed afternoon tea, activities and a quiz.
Movember, the month formerly known as November, is when brave and selfless men around the world grow a moustache and women step up to support them, all to raise awareness and funds for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer, testicular cancer and male suicide.
The Home’s Activities Coordinator, Sam Wiseman, said: “Supporting Movember was such a fun way for our Home to raise awareness of men’s health. Everyone had a good giggle and enjoyed the moustache-themed activities. ‘Pin the moustache on Charlie Chaplin’ and the moustache-themed dress up went down really well!”
“Taking part in national events like this helps our residents feel part of the wider community and allows them to continue making a difference.”
