During the cold winter months, residents at Scarbrough Court in Cramlington, Northumberland, are keeping active indoors with a fun sports programme.
Local disability sport development company SMILE Through Sport recently visited the Home to engage residents in gentle, yet competitive sporting games. Residents grouped into teams, aiming balls at targets to win points for their teams.
They also played the traditional Pass the Ball game, which is very popular at the Home.
Activities Coordinator Dawn Peters said: "Whilst the cold weather is lasting, residents are still being active and enjoy taking part in sportive events and activities. Teaming up with local companies does not only help to offer residents a range of different activities throughout the week, but also brings local people and the Home together, which is important for residents to feel part of the community."
