Residents and staff at Prince Edward Duke of Kent Court in Stisted, Essex, supported Movember this week to raise awareness of men’s health issues.
Ladies and gentlemen at the Home donned fake moustaches and cheesy grins to pose for photos, with some residents taking their first ever selfies. Everyone then enjoyed a moustache themed afternoon tea.
Movember, the month formerly known as November, is when brave and selfless men around the world grow a moustache and women step up to support them, all to raise awareness and funds for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer, testicular cancer and male suicide.
The Home’s Activities Coordinator, Lucy Stock, said: “Supporting Movember was such a fun way for our Home to raise awareness of men’s health. Everyone then enjoyed a really good laugh and enjoyed learning how to take selfies – a first for many of our residents.
“It is important that we raise awareness and talk about men’s health issues and taking part in these types of national events helps our residents feel part of the community and contribute to a greater cause.”
