Care home residents in Braintree have been presented with a special 2-seater bicycle that will help them get around more easily.

Sunday, 10 September, marked Prince Edward Duke of Kent Court's monthly coffee morning, organised by the Home's Association of Friends. As part of the morning event, Provincial Grand Master Rodney Lister Bass of the Association of Friends presented Home Manager Michelle Bladen with a new bicycle that will enable easier access of the Home's grounds for residents and support their health and wellbeing through exercise outside in the fresh air.

Further presentations included a cheque of the proceeds raised at the Annual Stisted Golf challenge that took place in May.

Michelle said: "We are very grateful at Prince Edward Duke of Kent Court for the generous donations received today, especially the pedal quad bike, which will be of great use to our residents who find it difficult to walk around the Home's gardens. Our residents are already looking forward to trying the new vehicle out."
