Prince George Duke of Kent Court showered with kindness from the local community

17 June 2020

Staff and residents at Prince George Duke of Kent Court in Chislehurst, say they have been showered with kindness from the local community during the pandemic.

The Home’s staff are working tirelessly to keep residents safe and to support their wellbeing in these challenging times, setting up video calls between residents and their families and organising fun activities, such as craft sessions to keep up morale.

The local community and the Home’s Association of Friends have provided a wealth of support, with staff receiving an abundance of chocolate and other treats. They also received a donation of handmade mask hooks, designed to prevent soreness behind the ears.

The Home has also received lots of thank you cards and well wishes from people of all ages in the local community, including pupils from Farringdon School.

Valerie Allen, Activities Co-ordinator for Prince George Duke of Kent Court, says: “We’re grateful to our local community and to our Association of Friends for all their support in recent weeks. We’ve been showered with kindness which is helping us to get through these difficult times. Our residents are coping well under the circumstances. We have a fantastic team here and we’ll get through this together.”
