To welcome the Rio Olympics 2016, residents at Scarbrough Court in Northumberland enjoyed a lively Olympic themed session at the Home.
Led by local entertainer Mark Turner, residents enjoyed a fun-filled session with various ball games and other activities, and were awarded medals for their achievements.
"During the session Mark encouraged residents to use hand-eye coordination to aim balls into buckets and play volley ball from their seats. The residents loved it," says Dawn Peters, Activities Coordinator at Scarbrough Court, speaking about the event.
"Mark visits us twice a month to run Music and Movement sessions and is a real hit with the residents. One of Mark’s typical sessions at the Home will include a singalong with residents, encouraging actions and movement, while Mark plays his ukulele.
"Events like this really help to support the health and wellbeing of our residents to keep active and can be enjoyed by everyone at the Home."
