Residents at RMBI Homes have celebrated the Royal wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex with parties at the care homes.
On Saturday 19 May, residents, guests and staff at Prince Michael of Kent Court in Watford gathered to watch the wedding on a big screen in the Home’s lounge which was decorated with flags, balloons and statues of the Royal family. Later, everyone tucked into tea, cake and prosecco to toast the happy couple.
“We all enjoy a good party at Prince Michael of Kent Court and marking the Royal wedding was a fantastic way to bring people together, have a laugh and share stories. Spirits were really high and residents and staff celebrated throughout the day,” says Activities Coordinator Tracy Lydon.
Meanwhile, residents at Cornwallis Court in Bury St Edmunds enjoyed a special 'Royal wedding menu' which included a traditional English breakfast and a Royal finger buffet along with wedding cake.
At Scarbrough Court in Northumberland, the lounge was decorated with flags and bunting, while residents and staff donned hat and Royal face masks. Everyone enjoyed a Royal high tea prepared by the Home's chef, as well as a glass of bubbly, tea and music by a local entertainer.
