As spring has arrived and the temperatures are rising, residents at Scarbrough Court in Cramlington, Northumberland, have discovered their green thumbs.
Residents took advantage of the first sunny April afternoons this year and engaged in gardening sessions at the Home. Beautiful primroses were planted in colourful flower pots to decorate the outside areas at Scarbrough Court.
Activities Coordinator Maureen Rolf said: "Contact with nature and animals plays an important role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our residents. Getting outside in the fresh air when the sun shines and doing some gardening helps residents to stay active and lifts the spirits.
"Those who used to have a house with a garden especially love taking part in these sessions and reminisce about the flowers they planted in their own gardens."
