The 'Butterfly Service' status is a nationally recognised kitemark awarded by Dementia Care Matters to identify care homes which are committed to achieving excellent dementia care and providing residents with a high quality of life.
RMBI care homes have taken part in Dementia Awareness Week 2015, the national campaign organised by Alzheimer’s Society.
Between 17-23 May, staff and residents at RMBI care homes participated in a variety of activities focusing upon a particular era in time including the 1950s and 1960s.
Residents at Albert Edward Prince of Wales Court care home in Mid Glamorgan, enjoyed a range of 1950s themed activities including a Coronation vintage tea party, a rock and roll show and dining in a 1950s themed burger diner.
Congratulations to Jane Baldwin who received the Care Trainer of the Year Award and Sandra who came runner up in the Putting People First Award at this year's Great British Care Awards.
The Awards, now in its sixth year, are a celebration of excellence across the care sector and are designed to pay tribute to those who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work.
