In our Dementia Support House, we can care for up to 27 people with eight carers on duty during the day and three carers at night.
There are four day Shift leaders, working on a rota system, who oversee the daily management of the Home and one Shift Leader at night. Most of our care staff have achieved, or are working towards an NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care.
We have a 24-hour nurse call system installed in all our residents’ rooms and each person has a personal alarm to carry, so they can call for assistance when they are around the Home or out and about.
We have three dedicated part-time Activities Coordinators who organises a variety of activities as well as trips outside of the Home, to support our residents’ health and wellbeing.
Please note that the level of care each person receives will depend on their individual care needs. This is continuously monitored and reviewed to ensure each person receives the right level of care. Staffing levels may be adjusted in different areas of the Home to support the level of care required by residents at any particular point in time.

We are committed to giving our residents and their relatives a voice and encourage families to provide feedback on the quality of our services.
We actively promote residents and relatives forums and regularly carry out satisfaction surveys that are benchmarked to the industry to ensure that we continue to improve and develop our services to meet people’s needs and expectations. This includes taking part in Your Care Rating, the country’s largest and most authoritative survey of care home residents and we are delighted to be part of this initiative.
The nationwide survey gives residents a voice, putting their care at the heart of understanding more about how well care homes perform. The survey also provides helpful insights into the experiences of people using our service and we have used this information to help us continually improve as an organisation.
Alongside the Your Care Rating survey of residents, we also conduct our own annual survey through an independent research company Ipsos MORI for all relatives of residents.
Recent results from our annual national survey show that 97% of residents at Prince Michael of Kent Court are happy with the care and support they receive.
