Mark LLoyd joined RMBI Care Co. as Managing Director in October 2016.
He is a well established and experienced Managing Director with over 30 years' experience in the housing and social care sectors and having led a number of national organisations.
His previous experience includes delivering a bank turnaround strategy during his time at Avante Care; Essex Cares Limited, one of the first Local Authority Adult Social Care private Trading Companies, and delivering the first Social Care PFI pathfinder development for dementia services for the Royal Borough of Greenwich at a cost of £200m at Ashley Homes.
Mark has achieved strong regulatory outcomes with all his organisations including ‘Outstanding’ ratings from The Care Quality Commission.
He managed his own consultancy business assisting councils with business cases and setting up social care companies.
His plans for RMBI Care Co. is to maximise future potential and to strengthen its position in the UK adult social care sector by focussing on care services of the highest quality.
Kevin Harris, Development Director
Kevin Harris has over thirty years experience in the Healthcare sector and joined RMBI Care Co. in November 1992 as Regional Manager covering six Homes, then moving into the role of Executive Director of Care Operations in 2000 until December 2015.
In his new role as Development Director, Kevin is working closely with all of RMBI Care Co.'s directorates to ensure that best practice across the sector is translated into service delivery in RMBI Homes. His work focuses on reviewing the financial efficiency of RMBI Homes and recommending solutions for long-term viability, looking at alternatives to the traditional care home model and applying them to RMBI Homes, as well as developing new services.
He also supports the Care Operations team with service changes and development and the Masonic community with appropriate training. In his role Kevin is also looking at the possibility of developing new RMBI Homes in parts of the country where there is no RMBI Care Co. service yet.
Louise Bateman, Human Resources Director
Louise Bateman joined RMBI Care Co. as Director of Human Resources in July 2013. Louise’s previous appointment was Head of People at the Cambridge Building Society where she led a people change programme and as a member of the Executive helped to rebrand and develop additional customer centred business channels.
Louise has extensive senior HR experience gained over a 20-year period where she has worked across a number of industry sectors; she also provides voluntary support and advice to a charity which raises funds for cancer fighting equipment.
At RMBI Care Co. her focus is to lead, motivate and inspire the HR and training teams to develop and deliver the HR strategic and operational plan. This ensures that we recruit, train, develop and engage staff to deliver the very best care to our residents.
Marc Nelson-Smith, Properties Director
Marc joined RMBI Care Co. in November 2013 and is responsible for making sure that RMBI Care Co.'s property portfolio is well maintained, providing attractive environments for existing and potential residents and refurbishing all Homes to a high standard. Furthermore, his team work to ensure that RMBI Care Co. properties are compliant with all legislation.
Prior to working at RMBI Care Co., Marc held a senior role with Cancer Research UK where he headed up the estates department, focusing on the science, office and legacy estates. Marc has over 20 years' experience in the commercial property and commercial property development sectors.
Lal joined RMBI Care Co. in August 2000 with a wealth of commercial knowledge and experience from various senior positions in Trading, Manufacturing and Engineering organisations. He is the main architect of RMBI Care Co.’s accounting structure and has also introduced it to our parent charity the Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF). Lal’s main focus is to streamline the accounting service whilst increasing the financial and operational efficiencies to achieve the corporate goals.
Before joining RMBI Care Co. in January 2016 Karen gained more than 30 years of experience from various senior positions in the Healthcare Sector.
She was previously Head of Operations for the UK's leading disability charity, Leonard Cheshire Disability. Prior to this she worked in GP Practice Management and held Senior Clinical Management positions within the NHS.
For all residents of RMBI Homes Karen's focus is to provide the highest possible quality of care delivered to consistently high standards. She works to ensure care provision is not only person centred but also fully compliant with all regulatory requirements. Karen leads the care operations team in the delivery of her headline objectives. Her work also ensures that the enabling infrastructure and support functions are all in place across every area of care operations activity.
